Visually
Impaired
Persons Support Group
The Blue Grass Council of the Blind offers a support group to those
who are blind or visually impaired. The group is called the Visually Impaired Persons Support Group (VIP Support
Group).
The group meets the fourth Wednesday of each month from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM in the office of
the Blue Grass Council of the Blind. The first hour is fellowship and recreation. This
varies from meeting to meeting; we play bingo or do other fun things or just socialize. The second hour is an educational program. We discuss
ways each of us has learned to overcome or cope with vision loss. We have guests to meet with us
to talk about a variety of topics from health and safety to visual aids, foot care to exercise, mobility tips to legislative issues affecting the blind and visually impaired.
It is a good learning time for all who attend.
If you are interested in attending the Support Group, please call the office at 859 259-1834 for
details. Note: For those who attend by using WHEELS para-transit, we will pay the fare.
We hope you will join us and tell others of our Support Group.
