It is with great sadness that the family of Julie Kathleen Pauly (née Sullivan) announces her passing on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the age of 53. Julie was predeceased by her husband of fourteen years, Thomas Pauly, in 2004 and father, Michael Sullivan, in 2015. She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Mack and Sam Pauly, her partner, Dave Elbon, her brother, Mike Sullivan, her mother, Pam (Jim) Thompson, her step-daughter, Allison Pauly, her mother-in-law, Marian Pauly and all of her extended family. She will also be forever loved and remembered by her three grandchildren Rose, Alfred, and Jack, and her niece and nephew, Eliza and Finn. Julie was born in Washington, DC in 1965 and moved to Frankfort, Kentucky in 1970. She graduated from Western Hills High School in 1983, where she was named first team All-State in basketball, and went on to receive a bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky in 1989. She settled in Lexington, Kentucky and was an accom plished triathlete, basketball coach, mother, and friend. Julie was creative and inquisitive with a brilliant artistic mind and playful sense of humor. She loved to cook for and host friends and family, and was always exploring new cuisines. Besides her human family, she had great love for her small menagerie of dogs and cats. Her love and generosity will be remembered by all. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 21st at Christ Church Cathedral in Lexington from 11am-1pm with a celebration of life service immediately after.
