Wednesdays at Hunter for April 2008

Everyone is welcome at our Wednesday evening supper and program.  Childcare is available at no charge.  Donations are accepted for the meal; if you are on a strict budget, come and make whatever donation you can afford!  Unless otherwise stated, the meal is at 6 p.m. with the program following around 6:30 p.m.

April 2               Menu: Chili bar, green salad, dessert

Program: Peter Barnes Davis from Louisville will speak on the Congo. He lived in the Congo for about two years as an assistant to a pastor and later worked in the African Section of the Presbyterian Church's national office in Louisville. He will help us understand the work of the Presbyterian Church there.

 

April 9               Menu: Pot roast, herb roasted vegetables, bread, jell-O salad, dessert

Program: Dr. Abdul-Mun'im Jitmoud, a native of Thailand, is currently a principal of Lexington Universal Academy, a small Islamic School on Nicholasville Road. This is rescheduled from the Lenten Series.

 

April 16             Menu: Herb roasted pork, golden couscous, honey carrots, mandarin orange salad, bread, dessert

Program: We will watch a video by the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship called "Colombians Speak out about Violence and U.S. Policy.”

 

April 23             Menu: Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, biscuits, dessert

Program: Ruth Beattie will present the program, “Oh My! Strange, Weird and Spectacular Plants and Animals of Australia.” Come to make an acquaintance with some of the wildlife she saw on her trip.

 

April 30             Menu: Chicken casserole, wild rice, salad, bread, dessert

Program: Dr. Saadi Hassan will speak on the Sudan.
