Note: The Almond family is apparently the Americanized name for the descendents of the Allemong or Allimang family. Members of this Swiss (or Alsace-Lorraine) family settled in western Virginia and Pennsylvania. They apparently either converted or were already Quakers. I am still tracing how William Penn Almond is connected to this Allemong branch, but it is telling that William Penn was the Quaker founder of Pennsylvania.
