A family of four was killed in a tragic accident when their SUV was forced off the 24th avenue overpass. Witnesses claim that a group of car, moving at a high rate of speed and apparently racing where the cause of the tragic accident. While Hudson City is known to have an street racing scene, this is the first fatality or even serious accident associated with it.

 

Addition: The deathtoll from this tragic accident has risen to five as the youngest member of the family, a 8 month year old thrown from the crash, dies despite of the heroic efforts to save her. The names of the victims are still being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

Justice Leon Scanton, a long term member of the Hudson City court system was arrested during in surprise raid on the Strip. Sources vary but allegedly Justice Scanton has been charged with several counts including soliciting prostitution, drug possession and soliciting sex from a minor. Scanton career has spanned 20 years with out even a hint of scandal and this turn of events has much of the city shocked. Scanton was a pivotal figure in the “Citizens for a decent tomorrow” a grass roots campaign against pornography and prostitution

 

March 25th

 

Another appearance by LaMastre Park’s apparent vigilante dog is in the news. This time the canine hero lead young Linda Applegate, a 3 year old that had wandered away from her parents and been lost for three days to a patrolling police officer before vanishing once more Young Linda was none the worse for where for experience and claims the dog defended her from “bad men” that tried to hurt her and brought her food.

 

26 yr old Nat “Ghost killa” Jones was found dead the apparent victim of a revenge killing for his part in the trial of the drug lord “Brother Namaan” Jones is the second trail witness killed so far but no connection has been drawn to Namaan who is currently incarcerated though he claims to have “set bad mojo on his enemies”

 

The police have released the identity of the young woman whose body was discovered in Willowford (GM: the suburb where Menagerie lives). She has been identified as Jennifer Anne Christie a 20 year old student HCSU. While details are being withheld that case is being investigated as a homicide.

 

March 28th

 

Last week’s body snatching from the HCSU medical building has been revealed as an elaborate hoax. University administration is unofficially blaming a record keeping error and a false alarm called into the campus police.

 

Additional: In a strange coincidence, one of the suspected body snatchers was killed when fire swept though an Hudson High School today. The name of the victim is being withheld due to her being a juvenile. The fire is believed to be part of the bizarre string of lethal “practical jokes” that stuck all over the city on April 1st

 

Thanks to anonymous phone call, HCPD was lead to a dockside ware house that proved to be source of the contaminated fish which cause the food poisoning scare over the last few days. They also found the warehouse owners bound and gagged with the paper work that revealed their scheme to sell the tainted product to several local restaurants and keep the profit. What wasn’t found was the reminder of the warehouse contents but “So long and thanks for all the fish!” was scrawled on the wall in blue paint.

 

March 30th

 

A convenience store hold up turned deadly last night when the three robbers opened fire on police as the pulled into the store parking lot resulting in 15 minutes gun battle that cost the live of 3 officers and lead to the injuries of several more. The perpetrators were all killed when a SWAT team stormed the store. All three were heavily armed and apparently employing some form of body armor as it took massed gunfire to finally bring them down. This is the latest is recent upswing in violent crimes that seems centered on the Latin City and Red Hill districts with incidents city wide. The incidents are characterized by the extreme degree of force employed the perpetrators and suddenness with which they seem to erupt.

 

Additional: The tide of violence has grown beyond Hudson City into the outlying suburbs when a Willowford teenager when on a shooting rampage at a local mall. The youth was killed by local police after a prolonged gun battle. It was later discovered that he killed his parents and older siblings likely moments before the shooting spree. As the perpetrator is a juvenile his identity is being is not being disclosed.

More reports of gang violence in Latin City and surrounding areas as local drug gangs engaged in violent turf conflicts as well random assaults and so called “vigilante” actions. Most of the violence seems to stem from the destruction of “Bad Ass Hector’s” by two masked vigilante’s employing a heavily armed vehicle and the subsequent assault allegedly perpetrated by two Caucasian women on a local girl that spawned a near riot

 

Three member of the Taft street Kings gang that there acquitted in last month’s rape of Charlotte Carter, a Albion housewife who’s car broke down in the Freetown area were found several beaten, tied to a utility pole at the alleged site of the attack. The men were suffering from extensive injuries including massive blunt force trauma to the head and genitals. Each had a note pinned to them which read “The Hammer Falls”

 

Additional: Five more assault victims, savagely beaten and bound for police capture were found in LeMastre Park. The victims, all member of an as yet unnamed gang had previous records of drug abuse, assault and, in twos, cases attempted rape. The police were tipped off to their location by an anonymous called that gave the location. There was another note reading “The Hammer Falls” nailed to the tree over the victim’s heads.

 

Several lives were claimed and dozens’ injured when a wave of practical joke themed booby traps went off on April 1st. These devices ranged to elevator floors sabotaged to drop out of under the passengers when the express descent button was pushed to fire extinguishers loaded with explosive chemicals (the cause of the earlier school fire), Joy Buzzer door knobs rigged to give lethal jolts of current and other deadly “practical jokes”. Perhaps the most elaborate involving people told their loved ones were being held hostage and the only way to free them was to perform some public crime and when they arrived to find their kidnapped relative, spouses of loved one they found they’d been dead for days.

 

Despite threats of violence levied against its organizers, Hudson City’s annual Gay and Lesbian Pride Day March will be going ahead, as scheduled. While the event has garnered its share of protestors ranging from local groups to the infamous Westerboro Baptist Church, this is first time the leaders and organizers have had direct threats made against them, their families and the event itself. One organizer Sally Morgan, owner of the bar Mustang’s Sally a popular social spot for the lesbian community says these threats and rising tension (over proposed state legislation to legalize same sex marriage) make Pride Day even more vital. “The GLBT citizens of Hudson City need to come together and stand up in the face of prejudice and let the world see we are united and will not be shouted down or bullied into hiding. We just want to live our lives and share the same rights as other citizens, including the right to our personal sexuality. As much as I hate to resort to clichés but: We’re here, we’re queer, get used to it.  It’s the same message and we’ll keep repeating it until it sinks in.”

Hudson City's resident Shock Jocks Chris and Kelly are possibly facing some hot water for the April Fool's' joke on the city when on their April 1st show they reporst that NASA was offering free Mammogram via a few satellite system, to receive one all the cancer conscious listener would have to do is bare her breasts to the open sky 5:00 in the afternoon which hundreds did. While no one knows exactly how many fell for the joke and how many were going along for the excuse to... show off their best assets Chris and Kelly's questionable joke has garnered them some harsh criticism specifically from women's group, though a they also received a "Thank You" card signed by the regulars at Mustang Sally’s.

Two vigilantes slain after and extended running battle: Reports are sketchy but two newcomers to the Hudson City vigilante scene were reportedly killed after one mistook the other for a criminal and attacked. After a prolonged battle in the Redmond district one of the assailants fell to his death. The other, severally injured later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. Police are keeping their true identities quiet for now but one went by the name Firefly; the other assumed name is currently unknown.

 

Woman attacked at her job in broad daylight with no witnesses: A waitress as a local Italian restaurant was assaulted and raped during her shift yesterday. The attack allegedly occurred in the female employees’ restroom during the lunch rush yet no one saw her assailant enter or leave.

 

Hudson City’s Terror Alert level increased: After several intercepted internet communications and some recovered documents found in European Al Qaeda cell contained specific information on Hudson Power Grid and water system, the city Terror Alert have been increased to Red. Citizens are advised to alert for any and all suspicious activities, but to remain calm.

 

Several diners were slain today in an apparent vehicular homicide when the driver, reportedly under the influence of drugs, possibly methamphetamine, drove his truck into the Idle Hour Café in Worthington killing four diners instantly and injuring several more. The patrons had to subdue the perpetrator, who despite suffering broken arm and multiple injuries took several people to restrain.

Two killed in apparent warehouse robbery: Last night two guards were killed it what appeared to be a robbery at warehouse owned by Gillimore Brothers an industrial transport and storage company. The criminals escape with an estimate 500,000 dollars in high end consumer electronics and computer equipment. Police are currently withholding details on the investigation. The robbery took place in the early evening hours on the Upper East Side.

 

Yesterday’s bizarre incident at the Idle Hour café claims another victim. 20 yr old Jennifer Morgan, severely injured when a man drove his vehicle into the café’s patio, died of her injuries last night in Sister of Mercy Hospital. This brings the total death toll to five. The perpetrator is being held under heavy police guard in intensive care and has not yet been identified.

 

In a bizarre twist on the recent “hero dog” stories a man was reportedly savagely attacked by a pack of feral dogs in Pierpont last night. The victim, one William Turner, suffered lacerations to his arms, legs and face during the assault but is expected to recover. He has made statement at this time and refused any interviews.

 

A running gun battle between the HCPD and the notorious Satan’s Messengers erupted last evening when Harold “Impaler” Jones resisted arrest when two officers attempted to serve a warrant on him for parole violation. Jones and several friends opened fire on the two officers, killing one and injuring his partner. When the officer called in backup, the scene dissolved in shoot out that lasted 20 minutes. Fortunately no more officers were injured though two of the gang members were killed in the exchange. Jones has been taken into custody and is currently being held awaiting processing and trial.

 

Local woman Agnes Moorehead found her home an unexpected hub of criminal activity when a group of costumed vigilante’s gathered at her home for reasons unknown. Reportedly among the collection were the vigilantes Nightfall, Ghost, Esien and the so called Roller Babe.

 

A young Hudson resident was injured in an altercation with one of the vigilantes allegedly when he accidentally interrupted that bizarre gathering which resulted in an unprovoked assault. Police are currently withholding the young man’s name and keeping him under guard at an undisclosed location.

 

Record breaking summer heat predicted: Meteorologists are saying no end in sight to the heat wave that currently has our city in its grip. Temperatures for the next few weeks are expected to rise into the high 90s to low hundreds. City utility officials warn of the possibility of rolling blackouts as an already over worked power grid is taxed still further.

 

Two Hudson University found dead in dorm room in an apparent murder/suicide: The two girls both freshman at Hudson City university were found dead early this morning. Their neighbors reported hearing nothing unusual and details on the cause of their death and names are being withheld until the families van be contacted. The only information release to the public at this time is that foul play is not suspected.
