History:
A son of House Cynis, Dannic, disgusted with his family's hedonism, joined the Immaculate Order and dedicated himself to emulating Sextes Jylis. Needless to say, the day the Unconquered Sun Exalted him shook him to his core, especially with the memories of the Dragon-Blooded betrayal seared into his mind.
Hunted by the very people he once called brothers, Dannic fled the Blessed Isle, narrowly escaping with his life. In the Threshold, Dannic felt himself torn between the Immaculate Philosophy ingrained into him and the truth shown him by the Unconquered Sun. As he agonized over this, he felt something calling him away.
He followed the feeling, and it led him to a tomb that he instinctively knew was his. The tomb had been looted, but whoever the looters were, they had left behind a potent artifact -- a magical shield bracer -- and failed to recognize that the tomb was also a moderately powerful manse.
Instinctively, he attuned himself to the manse and meditated. He knew not how long he remained there, but in that time, he began to grasp the concepts of manipulating Essence and mastered the basics of the Essence-manipulating aspects of the Wood Dragon Style he had been taught at the Cloister.
Now, Dannic has abandoned his family name and wanders the Threshold. No longer believing in the Immaculate Philosophy, he instead tries to live up to a different ideal: The betterment of his fellow people's lives, one person at a time.
Appearance:
Powerfully-built and broad-shouldered, Dannic is an unusually large specimen of the Realm and far more agile than he looks. His dark blue eyes are so dark that they seem almost black, and for the moment, his hair -- naturally black -- remains shaven.
