HEARTHSTONE

Gem of Heat Resistance - The bearer does not feel any ill effects from any amount of (non-magical) heat.  Magical or essence-enhanced flame will still affect the bearer, at double the normal soak, but the character can stroll through an inferno and even bathe in boiling lava without any ill effects.  Only the bearer and any artifacts comitted to the character are protected, normal clothing and items will still be burned and melted.

MANSE

The DragonForge - hidden deep within the mountains of the southlands, this manse is constructed inside a volcanic peak, almost invisible from the outside except for the chimneys from the forge itself, which from a distance only look like smoke rising from the mountain, albeit in a fairly regular arrangement.  The manse is carved into the obsidian and lava tubes of the peak, the hallways winding and curving randomly, rising and falling as their carved walls follow the ancient paths of lava through the the mountain  The interior walls are a glassy black, highly polished with veins of several colors running through them  More orderly runes and patterns of the mystic metals focus the energy of the manse.  The rooms are carved out from larger chambers, and hallways and rooms are illuminated by glowing crystals.  There is enough room to house several exalts and a handful of servants, and anything a typical manor might contain can be found within the manse.  Especially useful are the hot pools and cooking provided by the heat of the volcano. Surprisingly, despite the location, the rooms can be cool and pleasant, partially because the volcanic rock is an excellent insulator, and because the magic of the manse draws any excess heat to the forge, except where used specifically for heating.  The temperature remains cool year-round, despite the weather outside.  The central feature of the manse is the forge itself, built into the central chamber that focuses the manses energy to the hearthstone.  This chamber site above a pool of lava vents and balconies looking down onto the glowing molten rock.  The room is oppressively hot to any not used to the heat of a forge, and even those who have worked long in such places suffer from the heat over time, without the protection of magics.  The lava is used in the forge itself to heat and melt anything the blacksmith wishes to work on, including the mystic metals themselves, and is fully outfitted for any kind of metalworking.

Physical Description (including visible artifacts)

Lissandra is a huge woman, over seven feet tall and massively muscled,

putting even most men to shame.  Despite this she still maintains a

certain beauty, though in most cases it's one men admire but rarely

brave touching.  Her long white hair hangs past her waist, often tied

back in a loose ponytail when she travels, or coiled in a long braid

when she works the forge.  Typically she wears little more than her

armoring, a belt and chainmail affair she made, with a hearthstone set

in the center of the belt.  When she travels she wears a cloak or simple

robes over this, and tall boots of thick leather.

She wields a massive steel and orichalcum hammer carved into the shape

of a lion's head.

Personality:

Lissandra is a quiet, introspective woman, either busying herself

working at the forge, or planning her next project or trip. During her

time off she spends time with her friends from teh forge, and can be

much more outgoing when she tries to be, often becoming the center of

the party. In contrast to many of her zenith brethren, she's not much of

a preacher, preferring to work and building or rebuilding things around

her, and helping out actively.

Background (in brief)\

Lissandra was born far in the north, almost the other side of creation

from the place that would one day be her home.  She grew up in

Whitehall, the daughter of one of the local women, raped by one of the

feirce barbarians of the northlands.  She was always an outsider, her

appearance taking after father, with her pale white hair and large

size.  From childhood she towered over the otehr children, and by the

time she was becoming a woman she was one of the tallest people in the

city.  With few options in the city besides joining the gaurd and likely

getting tossed into all the worst jobs, she left the city, travelling

south from Whitehall.  During the travels, she strayed from the road

during a blizzard, beset by deadly cold and harried by undead and fae,

she should have died.  But at the last moment, as she was ready to give

in, she heard the voice of the unconquered sun, and was exalted.

She fought her way back out of the icy wastes, eventually reaching the

inner sea.  Here she met a craftsman (Markos) from the south, a

blacksmith by trade who was visiting the north to find a source of new

material for his forge.  He took in the huge girl, first as someone to

do the heavier work for him, but eventually training her, teaching her

the ways of the forge as they returned to the south.  He also discovered

her secret, but by then knew she was no monster, and had little enough

respect for the dragons as it was.  He took her back home to Chiascura,

where he owned a massive smithy with several forges and Blacksmiths.

Lissandra was an outsider, but her skill and easygoing personality soon

won over the rest of the smiths, and she became part of the family.

Over the next few years, Lissandra made a few trips to some of the

darker parts of teh city and the surroundings, helping those around her

when they  were threatened by evil, and following strange 'feelings'

that lead her ever more southward into the mountains to the south of the

city.  It was here she found her manse and hammer, and forged her armor

from the supplies she found there.  Lately, she's been feeling another

pull...
