This is my video camcorder. It is a Sony Handycam CCD-TRV25. It is analogue. The yellow connection is video and the black is for audio

This is the back of my Gateway 310XL.
My capture card is a Pinnacle PCTV Rave. The yellow connection is the video and the one to the right of it is for audio.

This is the back with connections. The video connection(yellow) fits perfect. But the audio connection is loose. As you can see from the previous picture they aren't really the same connector.

Pinnacle Studio 8 Software

Under "Capture":
When I click "Settings" on the bottom right of the camera, I get the above screen.
This is under the "Capture Source" tab.
I have added some of the wording because it was kinda hard to read.
For Audio I have selected "Realtek AC97 Audio - TV Tuner Audio"
I selected this because I have my audio connected to my capture card(PCTV Rave)

Next I clicked "CD and Voice-Over" tab. I made sure my Input Source said "TV Tuner Audio - Realtek AC97 Audio"

I went to Start/Control Panel/Sounds. Under the "Audio" tab, I made sure that the TV Tuner was "Checked". Again, because I have my audio connected to my PCTV Card.
I closed these windows and proceded.

I click on Capture and I am asked to "Enter A name for the capture. I chose "Family". And then I clicked "Start Capture".After about 1:00 minute, I stopped the capture.
It doesn't ask about sound or any kind of file type.

In "Edit", from the drop down window, I selected "Family" and dragged it down to the Timeline. I could not find and audio files on my hard drive.

Still under the "Edit" tab, I clicked on the "Sounds" button and got the following box. The file "1" is the only file in the box. It wasn't anything that I created. I tried playing it and it seems to be blank.

I think that is it. Alteast that is all that I know about. One of my main
concerns is that the Audio connection doesn't fit perfect
on the TVPC Card. It does fit perfect on the camcorder
