People
are precious to God. At Trinity we seek to affirm people
by accepting each person with their own unique personality,
background, strengths and weaknesses. At the same time we
encourage each person to be ever growing and changing in
character to be like Christ. We believe the church is to
be a loving, supportive community as well as a place of
service for each individual where we all can be transformed
by God's grace.
There
is nothing more important a person can do than to enter
into a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Trinity's vision and programing revolve around helping people
grow in this relationship. Christ's communication to us
in Scripture is the foundation for our ministry. Responding
to Him in prayer, obedience and service to others is the
primary purpose of our lives.
Christians
ought to be involved in their world bringing the good news
about Christ to all people. At Trinity we seek to be involved
in our community in Christ's name through evangelical outreach
ministries and mercy ministries to the poor. We also believe
we must be concerned about people in other cultures and
thus we have sent out missionaries to countries like Spain
and the Philippines through evangelical mission agencies.
We also believe Christians should be working to bring Biblical
viewpoints to our culture's institutions. At Trinity we
seek to develop a Christian worldview within our members
so that they can interact seriously with the world around
them intellectually and socially. To aid our members in
this task we strive to base our ethics in the Scriptures,
not legalistic traditions. |
