It all
started on January 1st, 2000. While awaiting the end or beginning
of something, Leo and Otto had fortunately planned to bring their guitars along.
Well, nothing really happened that day other than the seed was planted. Fast forward to
December 2002, plans were finally made to get together and plan some music.
Lots of ideas were shared. At the end of the day we heard the news that Joe
Strummer of the Clash had passed away. About six
months later, at the next planned session, Otto suggested Bud join. During
that session, we heard about this guy named Tim, whose drums had been setup
at Bud's place. Everyone agreed to get together. The first full
session was held, August 2003. It was actually good. Everyone committed to
something that we weren't quite sure of. For the first year, we spent time
writing and rehearsing material. In July 2004,
we started the process of documenting some of the better things we'd come up
with during the previous year. This recording of demo material lasted through
mid-2005. Based on the
strength of the material and some contacts. We played our first show as a
group in September 2005. The remainder o f the year and into early 2006 was
spent continuing to write and record. Amidst the balance of family, work,
music, and life in general, we've managed to play that elusive sophomore gig
in August 2006 and a third show in September 2007. The last year
has been one of success and challenge for the Cold Blue Stars. Somehow things always aren’t what they
seem. This brings up to the present time where we all are looking forward to the future as well as back into the past. |
