Seeds of Change
20 years ago, the world changed. And no one noticed. The Earth passed threw the vaporous tail of a comet which caused an unprecedented shower of astronomical objects to rain down on the entire planet a sea of falling stars that dazzled the world and was soon forgotten. But other things fell to Earth that night, strange and unforeseen forces were sent into motion. The seeds were planted that would alter the world forever. Years passed and various forces moved behind the scenes and plans came to fruition. Now, at the dawn of the 21st century, new forces erupted across the globe. Men and women gifted with incredible powers challenge the make up of the world and an awed humanity struggles to cope. You are one of the Seedlings, gifted with powers beyond imagination. How will you change the world?
Seeds of Change will be a fifth edition Hero System PBEM. Characters will be among the first superpowered beings to emerge in the wake of a celestial incident 20 years previous. The world is our own with the same history up until game start in November 2004. From that point on, the game is open to diverge in whatever ways the players and plotline create. Characters will generally be “heroes” but can be fairly flawed beings. The tone will be similar comic series such Supreme Power, Stormwatch and the Authority. The PCs will be some of the most powerful beings on the planet so their choices can affect the world. Themes I hope to explore are the price of power, the influence of celebrity and what does morality mean when social constraints are eliminated. Character origins should relate to the Seeding in some fashion, either directly or indirectly. This means characters who were born with their powers can be no older than 20 years old. Other origins will have to approved, but I am open to suggestions.
