Upper Gauley Rafting Trip

This was my second ever white water rafting trip this weekend, and what rafting I did before was:

A) at least 15 years ago and...
B) not nearly this intense.

Our river guide, Kelly, told us she likes to take a pretty "aggressive" approach to the rapids. That word, "aggressive", has pretty much been fused in my mind with the woman herself as she pounded us through 9 miles of Class 5 rapids. By the time we reached the middle Gauley, it seemed like a kiddie ride. Massive respect for Kelly and my fellow rafters. In the picture linked above, I am in the middle on the low side of the raft. That's Fearless Rob Hibbard actually standing up in the raft, on Pillow Rock, smacking it with his paddle! The most fun I've had doing anything in years, hands down!
