Chango is in full effect this afternoon. Thunder and lightning. Currently listenning to Morcheeba's Back to Mine album ("On the Rhodes Again".) Reading: the headlines...Google News

Seriousness of Threat Defended Despite Dated Intelligence (washingtonpost.com)

This story is so nauseatingly stupid, I shake my head everytime I see the headline. Each article says that the bulk of the surveillance was carried out by the terrorists three to four years ago. Each article mentions briefly that the Homeland Security Department has evidence of recent surveillance and that al Qaeda makes a habit of re-surveilling targets prior to an actual attack. Put one and one together and it looks like a new attack is coming. Couple that with past information that al Qaeda was planning new attacks in the U.S. in August and September... well any intelligent person gets the picture. What really irks me is that each vapid headline trumpits this "dated intelligence" and it's not even one half of the story. People who skim the headlines are being misled and it's very irresponsible of the papers to keep doing that.
