Well, one thing's certain... nothing is certain. But EVERYBODY is speculating... The three articles above represent a smattering of the opinions being tossed around from wild accusations about the presence of the explosives, fuzzy video, Russian special forces, the Syrian border. Frankly, I can't see how anyone is going to figure out what the hell has been going on in Iraq since 1991. The UN can't seem to keep track of its own story, the Pentagon has all sorts of stories, John Kerry and the New York Times are trying to ignore all of the possibilities that do not include President Bush being responsible for it, and well... it's basically a stupid story. As one writer points out the Al Qaqaa facility holds only about 0.9% of the weapons of concern in Iraq and there are conflicting reports on what was actually stored there in the first place.
My over all impression of Iraq, is that there were probably 20 or 30 governments and agencies manipulating information and materials in that country for 12 years. I don't think any of them including Sadaam Hussein knew what was really going on. Almost every intelligence report about that country has been wrong, including a ton of material from the UN weapons inspectors and the IAEA.
